| Deposit | €500 one-time A one-time payment for students coming from third countries outside the EU/EEA is to be paid in full together with the full-year tuition fee payable upon arrival. The deposit is intended for coverage of possible immigration expenses and paid back upon request after graduation. |
| Entry qualification | High school / secondary education (or higher) Applicants applying for undergraduate degree studies are required to have completed their secondary /high school education. Grade in Mathematics must be no less than 6 (or “almost good”) in a 10 point grading system. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Applicants must upload education documents in original language, as well as translations into English. Diplomas and transcripts issued outside EU must be legalized with a legalization stamp or Apostille. If your previous studies have been obtained in English but not in the country listed below, then you have to present an official letter from your previous educational institution (secondary school, etc.) where is stated that all your studies were in English (medium of instruction is English), and you have to pass interview where the University of Latvia will evaluate your language skills. Applicants who have obtained previous education in English in one of the bellow listed countries do not need to provide separate language proficiency: Internationally recognized foreign language certificate does not have to be presented if the foreigner has acquired secondary education in a country of the EU and the EEA or in the Swiss Confederation and in his secondary education certificate is included an assessment of foreign language skills, which are comparable to at least level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). |

| Other requirements | Grade in Mathematics must be no less than 6 in a 10-point grading system. If the secondary education document does not indicate a grade in mathematics, it can be replaced by a grade in the subject of economics/business management field (the grade must be at least 6 (on a 10-point scale). Overview
The aim of the programme is to prepare highly qualified specialists who working in state, private and international institutions will have good command in issues of international economy and commercial diplomacy, will be able to take independent decisions, handle everyday tasks and cooperate with Latvian and foreign organizations, offices and enterprises.
The planned results of the programme are the ensuring of the following general and specific competences: orienting in the processes of the contemporary international economy and the ability to analyse them by using statistical, econometric and other methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis; understanding about the basic conditions of commercial diplomacy in order to participate efficiently in the activities of international trade, finance and other, including negotiations, signing of agreements, representing national or corporate interests etc.; abilities to orient in global economic environment and to take decisions in the circumstances of global competition.
Career opportunities
Graduates are working in the institutions of foreign affairs and economics in Latvia, as well as in the institutions of European Union and in international, state, non-governmental and private organizations, in multinational corporations, in embassies, and banks.
