| Deposit | €500 one-time A one-time payment for students coming from third countries outside the EU/EEA is to be paid in full together with the full-year tuition fee payable upon arrival. The deposit is intended for coverage of possible immigration expenses and paid back upon request after graduation. |
| Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) For Specialization “Teacher Mentor”, (50 CP/75 ECTS, 2.3 semesters for full-time studies): pedagogical education – bachelor’s degree or second level professional higher education with a mastered program in the amount of at least 160 CP/240ECTS. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Latvian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Applicants must upload education documents in original language, as well as translations into English. Diplomas and transcripts issued outside EU must be legalized with a legalization stamp or Apostille. If your previous studies have been obtained in English but not in the country listed below, then you have to present an official letter from your previous educational institution (University, etc.) where is stated that all your studies were in English (medium of instruction is English), and you have to pass interview where the University of Latvia will evaluate your language skills. Applicants who have obtained previous education in English in one of the bellow listed countries do not need to provide separate language proficiency: |

Overview
The aims of the master’s study program “Educational Sciences”: to promote the improvement of students’ professional-pedagogical, management and research competence for competitiveness in education, to motivate for further academic growth.
Tasks of the study program:
1. to promote students’ research skills by integrating the latest scientific findings and innovative ideas into research activities;
2. to promote the development of students’ pedagogical competence, readiness to plan, implement, evaluate and develop educational activities in accordance with the learning needs of educational target groups, various abilities, and prior knowledge, internal and external conditions of educational institutions and education system development;
3. to promote the competence of students’ management and leadership by implementing change management;
4. to promote student participation and co-responsibility by promoting the development of a competent, responsible and motivated personality for lifelong learning;
5. to promote students’ understanding of professional and academic ethics standards and their observance in practical activities.
In the specialization “Teacher Mentor”, students will solve the diverse problems of modern education related to new challenges and changes in education policy and practice, implementation of the project “School 2030” in Latvian schools, the introduction of the new education standards.
Career opportunities
The program “Educational Sciences” is an academic program and is oriented towards the preparation of higher-level managers in education and teachers -supervisors, mentors in any sphere of educational, and all the necessary preconditions for a successful career in public and private sector related to education. At the same time, the program prepares students for further doctoral studies. The program has been developed in co-operation with three partner Universities in Latvia that have experience in the implementation of similar academic Master study programs.
